Service

Ministry to the Sick, Elderly & Homebound

Sickness and age can hinder someone's ability to attend Mass and participate in the life of the parish. We have an active group of lay people who bring Holy Communion to those who cannot come to Church.

If you, or a family member, would like to receive Holy Communion at home regularly, please contact the parish office.

Altar

Servers

The Holy Mass is the greatest moment of the worship of God and we are called to assist with it! Any child who has received their First Holy Communion is invited to become an altar server and assist in this holy deed. Recruitment for new Altar Servers usually occurs once a year and ongoing formation is held periodically. For more information, please contact the Altar Servers Coordinator on altarserver@mtgcatholic.org.au

Sacristans & Junior Sacristans

The Sacristan Ministry consists of dedicated individuals responsible for maintaining and preparing the church for Mass and liturgy. The Sacristans are committed to upholding the traditions and rituals integral to the church’s worship services.

Their responsibilities include preparing the altar, organising sacred vessels, and ensuring the seamless flow of religious ceremonies.

Hospitality Committee

This committee assists our Parish Events. These events are where relationships are formed and strengthened.

Events such as the Parish Picnic Day, Shared lunch, Multicultural lunch, etc, reflect how our parish is a sanctuary where hospitality embraces our shared values.

Through the grace of shared meals, we cultivate a sense of belonging, turning our parish into a community where everyone is not just welcome but truly embraced as family.

Rosary Making Group

All are invited to join the Rosary Group who make and distribute rosary beads for people all over the world. The Rosary is a privileged way to meditate upon the mysteries of the Gospel and grow closer to Jesus and his Mother Mary.

Liturgy Committee

This committee assists our Parish priest in the preparation of liturgies that are fitting and worthy of the glory of God.

Choir & Children's Choir

We have about 10 regular choristers spread over the SATB parts and we would love to see this grow to twice its size over this year. Rehearsals consist of prayer, vocal exercises and learning parts for Hymns. “To sing is to pray twice” - St Augustine. Currently the choir rehearses on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 7:00pm in the choir loft at St. Paul’s.

All welcome!

Men's Gardening Group

The gardens and grassed areas are beautifully maintained, reflecting the important worship inside our sacred church.

The members of the group have a wealth of knowledge, and expertise about gardening and building maintenance.

Readers & Junior Readers

Lectors at Mass proclaim the Scriptures to the assembly from both the Old and New Testaments. Our readers lend their voices to the living Word of God. To take up the role of reading at Mass, please contact the parish office.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist during Mass. They are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of ensuring that the Body and Blood of Christ are reverently and respectfully administered to the faithful. Their duties extend beyond Mass to include taking Communion to the sick and homebound members of the parish community.

Church & Sacristy Cleaning

Our care for the church and sacristy is an expression of love and devotion of God. Our volunteers who clean the church and sacristy help us to appreciate the central place of prayer and worship in our lives.

Counters

Our collection counters assist in the accounting of weekly donations to the parish. They help to ensure that gifts to the parish are carefully counted and banked.

Funeral Catering

The volunteers in our catering group help with providing refreshments and catering for funerals.

St Vincent de Paul Society

According to the vision of Bl. Frederic Ozanam, the St Vincent de Paul Society assists the needy in our community with friendship and practical support. To join them, contact the local St Vinccent de Paul Conference, here.
